Steak Dinners and Hide & Seak

As Anna gets older, it is fun to see what traits she takes on. Well, she is definately a Daddyy's girl when it comes to eating. We had steak two weekends in a row and she ate about 4 oz of steak each time... leaving only 2 oz of my 6 oz steak for me! But that is ok, because I am not a steak eater.

Anna's Hide & Seak skills have also gotten really strong. Every day before Ken gets home, she runs and hides and waits for him to find her. Here is one of their games. She is a really good hider, I bet you can't find her. Sometimes it takes Ken quite a while to find her.

She wants a Castle; Daddy builds it!

This is what you get when you mix two engineer parents, a three year old, two rolls of duct tape and three large furniture boxes. I have to point out, that all the joints are reinforced internally and all connections are reinforced externally and internally. This castle is probably more reinforced than our huose.

Ken continues to gain ground as Anna's favorite parent... this really gave him a huge jump over me! Anna was thrilled to have her castle and of course the kitty had to go in too. Poor Gus is not a fan of the castle.

Also on display are Mommy's mad skills at Play-dough art! Hey, Anna was thrilled! That's all that matters!

Sprinkler Fun

Anna is enjoying her Ariel sprinkler. This came in handy when we were without power last week!

Shorts!

Here is proof of Anna wearing shorts! Just reciently, she started to wear PJs with shorts rather than night gowns. I saw this as an opportunity to get her to wear shorts during the day, but she won't go for that. Apparently shorts for PJs are ok, but only dresses during the day. Which is too bad, because last year I bought about 20 beautiful outfits from a garage sale for like $10 and she won't wear any of them. My mom suggested slipping the clothse on her while she is sleeping, and I think we should give it a try! Sorry for the red eye.

Late Night Snack

Anna has always been a great eater. She must have the Olsztyn gene because she is a tooth pick! At two months before turning three years old, she weighs a grand total of 28 lbs! The other day, she went to our friends house for movie night and had pizza and baked potatoes there for dinner. She came home, and went to bed. After 1.5 hours of her yelling that she was hungry, we took her out of bed (at 10:30 pm) and had a late night snack. Her snack consisted of two sausage links, two whole waffels, a piece of pizza and cheese and crackers. Of course, all done in style with her sunglasses on. The other day, she ate about 4 oz of sirloin steak (THAT is a Budry thing!), which was more than I ate. I am not a steak person.

Fun Times

Well, we have had a crazy last four weeks. After Ken working weekends two weekends in a row, he and I decided to work on our bedroom before the baby comes and to our suprise when we started to remove the existing wall paper, we found that the previous owners wall papered three times and painted over the wall paper each time. They also didn't use the correct backing on the first layer of wall paper so we had to do major drywall repair. Good thing Ken is quite skilled at dry wall. This whole process took about 4 weeks start to finish, working on weekends and Ken has been working like a dog! I think HE has a major case of nesting!

Then, Memorial weekend, at the same time that we were working on our room, I got super sick! I had the flu and a bacterial sinus infection, which I got from Anna. That took us both two weeks to shake and we still aren't 100% back to normal.

THEN, we lost power for 5 days due to the storms that came through! We are greatful that the nights were cool. With the help of a generator we were able to save most of our food and stay at home. Anna was confused at first as to why we went potty in the dark, and I explained that we lost power. So now, when we turn on the lights she is thrilled that we "found the power!"

Now, back to normal... we'll see how long that lasts! I am looking forward to a weekend of us just hanging out!

So far so good with Anna being excited about baby #2... lets hope she keeps it up when her little sister arrives. Here she is doing an interpertation of Mommy.




For Mother's Day, Anna painted me some flower pots. The only way I can get her to wear a tee shirt and not a dress is to convince her that she will get her dress dirty.

Here is a video of Anna saying her ABCs. She has been saying them since about 2 years, but lately she has been morphing her LMNOs into one word. I didn't want to correct her until I got it on video.
