Day 10 And Counting and a Giant 6 Month Old

Well, we are on day 10 of Ken being out of town. I don't know what I did to be blessed with such great kids (knock on wood, knock on wood x's 1000). The girls have been wonderful and totally low maintenance with only the occasional (not the typical daily) satan induced tantrum from Anna. They are both taking a late nap, so I am putting so pics up and video.

We had a big lovin' session last night...

Emma-Grace had her 6 month appointment today. She is a GIANT baby. She is 27" long (75-90%), her head is 17.5 (90-95%) and she weights 17 lbs 15 oz...Anna weighed 16 lbs and was 25" long at her 6 month check up... Emma-Grace is close now to what Anna was when she was 9 months... but, the younger ones need to be tough with the older sibblings. The doctor was suprised at how much Emma-Grace was tracking Anna (of course Anna was running around the little office during Emma-Grace's check up and his light. Of course, being my child, she is naturally advanced, but the Dr. said that babies who track early tend to be good in school because they track their teachers... so here is hoping that we will have one dancer/Broadway star and one smartie pants!

Since Emma-Grace is such a big girl, I gave her her first solid food, the Gerbber puffs. Here she is trying to figure it out. She makes choking noises, but she isn't choking.

Emma-Grace has the funniest reaction to when someone comes to rescue her...

Just a tickle fest from last night.

The other day Anna told me a riddle she learned from watching Dora. It goes like this:

Translation: Hey Anna, can you jump higher than a mountain? No... I can't... Yes you can! Mountains can't jump silly!... That's a silly rule!

Emma-Graces's Baby Dedication

A few months ago we had Emma-Grace dedicated at our church. I just got the pictures that the church took. There was only one family picture of us because you can guess who was in a bad mood (see picture below). But she still looks cute!

Random Stuff

Since Ken is out of town, I haven't had a ton of time to chase the girls with a camera, but here is just a few items... just snap shots of everyday things that he is missing out on...
Here Anna is telling me the names of the ponies in her My Little Pony magnet game she has. Her usual MO is to name everything after a Disney princess... not so in this case.

Emma-Grace is getting really good a drinking for a sippy cup.

Anna found a comfortable spot to watch TV the other day.

Playing Around

I think Anna's favorite gift this Christmas was her Ariel ball. Here she is bouncing on it and "falling" off it... then, she is amazed by the camera again and being able to see her hand on the screen as it is taping her... it gets even more amazing when she can see her bouncy ball on the camera...

Here she is with a lot of chap stick on her face... she thinks she looks like Belle from Beauty and the Beast.

Anna's cousin McKenna came over and they ended up playing horsey. McKenna said she was tired but kept saying that "I'm five, I can do it" and carted Anna around the house for about an hour...

Funny Stuff

Both girls celebrated their first inauguration day!

Here is Anna enjoying a very blue cupcake!

Anna' cousin McKenna came over last weekend and the girls decorated Emma-Grace. She has purple lip gloss on too (something that happened not under my supervision...) that you can't see in the picture.
Anna is taking swim lessons with her friend Caeley. They think they are mermaids.
Just some silly pictures of the girls!

All done with dinner!
Baby Got Back! Emma-Grace has a pot belly and a bubble butt!
Sister love and cuddles!

All that red stuff smeared on Anna's face is chap stick... apparently her lips were REALLY chapped!

Sisters

Just another comparaison picture of the girls, both at six months old in the same outfit, both in their Johnny Jumper.

The Wonder of Technology and a Home Depot Bucket

I was filiming Emma-Grace the other night play in her bouncer. This was Anna's favorite toy, and now it is Emma-Grace's. It funny to see how much they can move, bounce and swing. Her little legs go crazy. So anyway, I was filming her and along comes Anna. At some point in my filming Anna sticks her hand in front of the camera while she is still standing behind it to see her hand on the screen... AMAZING! It is pretty funny. The video is a little long, so hang in there, Anna doesn't do her thing until the end.

"I can't" are two of Anna's favorite words, but of course, she CAN for most things. Her expression is pretty funny when I tell her to take off her shirt. Check out the pouty lip.

Ken and Anna pretty much were outside all this weekend playing in the snow. Here Ken is burying Anna.

Of course, with the snow, Snow Fort II was created, improving upon the design of Snow Fort I. Its bigger, taller, and better. He used a Home Depot Bucket to make the "bricks".

Emma-Grace loves this purple tray from her entertainment center. It is removable. The second you put it in, she rips it out. Just some video of her doing it over and over.

Anna's Blog

Hi Everyone - Santa brought Anna a digital camera for Chrsitmas. So I created her own blog of her photographic art work. I hope it brings you as much joy as it has me! The address is http://annasprincesspages.blogspot.com or you can click on the link under "Friends" on the left side of the page. Thanks Meghan for the great idea!

More Family Fun

Here are a few Christmas pics of the Budry cousins... there were lots of pictures taken and very few where all of them are smiling... I know in Photoshop I can merge the best faces of each kid into one picture, but I haven't figured that out yet! Nana buys the kids Christmas PJs for a picture every year.

McKenna (5), Emma-Grace (5 months) and Anna (3)

McKenna, Brayden (1), Emma-Grace, Anna

We took Anna to Chuck E Cheese's with her friend Caeley. We went early and were the basically the only ones there. Suprisingly, the food was great and the girls had a blast.

This video is from before Chtistmas. Ken and Anna are playing "Crazy Bowling". I am filming Anna's "crazy bowling" shot. Listen carefully, she talks about what she is doing. In brief, she "one and one and ones" (aka run and run and runs) and then she "pin aroun, pin aroun, pin aroun" (aka spins around, spins around, spins around). Even with all the fan fare, she needs some practice.

This is pretty funny. Anna and I were playing her favorite game, Pretty Pretty Princess (of course), and I put Emma-Grace under her play yard. She was delighted with the toys hainging right infront of her face. It is pretty funny what she does until she realizes we are watching her.

We stopped at Frankenmuth the weekend we were at Ken's parents house for Christmas, and took Anna on a carriage ride. She was thrilled.

A pic of Anna before the snow melt. Her fort was cool while it lasted!

Some snapshots of the rolly-polly!

The Fickle Heart of a Three Year Old

I came home after Ken on Wednesday from work. Before I arrived, Anna was all excited for me to come home and even had colored a picture for me. However, shortly before I arrived, she told Ken that she didn't want me to come home. Upon my arrival, she went postal. Of course, being the forward thinking mom I am, before I punished her, I cought some of her tirade on video. I am sure I can use it for blackmail in some fashion in the future. Here it is... Keep in mind, she was like this the second I entered the house. It isn't like she was reacting to me punishing her or something.

So once my video recording was complete, I gave her two options: 1) She could apologize to mommy, then come up stairs and eat dinner, or 2) she could go straight to bed. She continued to yell at me, so I gave her the two options listed above. Again, screaming, so I picked her up and put her in her bed. After dinner was prepared I went back up stairs to seeif she had chosen a different option and this time instead of screaming at me, she told me she wated to stay in bed. So Ken and I had a nice, calm, quiet dinner, with Emma-Grace stairing at us from her high chair. I am pretty sure she was thinking "so... where is my entertainment?" She looked pretty bored. Here is a snap shot of her during dinner.

So, about an hour and a half later (around 7:30 pm) Anna came back downstairs, appoligized to me and then I resumed my regular place as her most favorite person in the whole world. Here are some pics of her recovered from her satan-induced tantrum.

For some reason, Anna thinks that the purple Heffalump belongs on Emma-Grace's head...

Grammy bought Emma-Grace a bunch of Gerbber snacks (which is an awsome gift by the way!). I was a little slow getting her lunch together, so I gave her a bitter cookie to gnaw on to keep her quiet and she loved it.

Chrsitmas Party

I guess I forgot to post this a while ago.... so better late than never!

Anna's preschool did a Christmas show... it was cute. Of course, they were very quite when they sang the songs except when it came time to ring the jingle bells!

Catching Up...

Wll, it has been a while since I posted anything, so I have some catching up to do. Christmas came and went... in short, the girls had fun, I spent Christmas Eve and Christmas throwing up, we ate lots of food, Ken remodeled our closet and the girls' closet, and then went back to work. The time flew by! We are also wondering where all the snow went... Anna's snow fort is looking pretty sad.
Other things that happened included Emma-Grace rolling over from back to front, so she can now progress across the house by rolling and she can now sit up on her own, for the most part. We still have to be near because she is still top heavy! The girl's head is huge! She is growing so fast! She did both of these things the day after Christmas, aka, my return to the living. About me being sick... It has been 11 years since I last threw up! I'm like Jerry Seinfeld, for those of you who are Seinfeld fans.

Sister Love - the only way I can get a picture of Anna is with Emma-Grace. She is totally anti-pictures lately... but I have lots of video of her instead.

Oh, this is pretty funny... before Christmas, Anna and I wrapped Ken's present, and then she proceeded to write his name on the box... do you see his name? It is in purple. She wanted to be sure that he could see it, so she wrote it all over... Here are just a few of her various writing positions. Don't worry - she picked out her outfit too... hence the pink and white shorts and top set and thick brown polka-dot tights.

I started Emma-Grace on a sippy cup, I guess it is a little early, but Anna was this age when she started... Emma-Grace is getting the hang of it.
Of course, Big Sister Anna helps Emma-Grace too.

There is also lots of love from Big Sister Anna... she REALLY puts the love on Emma-Grace! Sometimes we have to rescure Emma-Grace from Big Sister Lovin'...

some more pictures of the one who will stay still long enough to take a picture...

Getting ready for bath time...
