Blog Worthy Belly

I don't think I have to say much about this picture... nothing like a chunky, happy baby with Buddha belly to make your day!

The Girls

Just having fun with Emma-Grace while Anna is at school. How fast they grow! Here are pics of Anna and Emma-Grace in the same outfit.

Cider Mill

We got our doughnuts fix at Yates Cider Mill this weekend... I am happy to say I ate 4 fresh doughnuts... YUMMY! Here are some family pics.

This is fun... here is a picture of Anna at the Cider Mill pretty much a year to the day earlier and one of her from this weekend. It looks like she grew about 6" if you compare the height. Note, this was a time when I had some influence of what she wore and how her hair was done. Hence the pants with no dress in the first picture... ahh the good ol'days!

Why Not?

The other day, Ken found out how cute Emma-Grace looks with a diaper on her head... right, why wouldn't you put a diaper on your kids head to see how cute they look?!?!
Anna is also getting really creative in her sleep positions lately. I am trying to get pics of them because they are pretty funny. Here she is at the foot of the bed. She did bring a pillow with her.
Nothing too abnormal about Anna's sleeping position here, but check out Snow White on the left side of the picture. I am sure she is comfortable!

Back to the Zoo

The girls and I met our friends at the zoo... remember the no eating and no spending money thing when I go to the zoo? Anna had fun wtih her friend Roman. For being a girly-girl she loves the reptile and amphabian houses. And yes, that WWII German style war helmet looking pink thing atop her head is a hat. It came with the dress and she had to wear it since "IT MATCHES MOMMY!" It is so silly looking that it is really cute!

Zoo Fun

Those of you who know us, know we go to the zoo a lot. The way I look at it, when I go to the zoo I don't eat and I don't spend money... two bonuses for me, along with spending time with my girls. So here are some pics of our zoo fun.

The girls and I went with Grammy and Grampy last week. Here are pics of Emma-Grace's first zoo visit.

Can you tell that Emma-Grace had a great time at the zoo for her first time?

Ken and I took the girls back to the zoo a few days later. We had a rough start on our way there with Emma-Grace. On the drive there she exploded in her diaper with all the grace and style that a newborn can. So we park the car, Ken gets out the 100 lbs of supplies that we deem necessary for a 2 hour tour at the zoo and I change Emma-Grace. I laid her on her plastic changing pad on the back seat of the van. The back seat seat part tilts slightly towards the back seat back part. So I get the diaper off and clean her up. Before I slip the clean diaper under her, she looks right at me and gives me the biggest smile. As I pause to make a googlie face back at her, 25 gallons of pee pours out of her. All I could do was stand there in shock as Niagra Falls comes out of my little girl. Of course, the plastic changing pad only helps the 25 gallons of pee flow off the pad and onto the cloth back seat. I was in too much shock to do much but be amazed and then laugh about it afterwards. All we could do was laugh about it and clean it up once we got home. Oh well!

Anna loves the train so she took us on it. It was Emma-Grace's AND Ken's first time on the train.

Of course, we had to have a 3 year old melt down while we were there...

When live gives you lemons on your birthday...

... you just bounce in the rain! As you are aware, mother nature decided to save up all the rain over the summer for one weekend, which was also the weekend of Anna's birthday party. In the birthday spirit, we rented a moonwalk, and invited 34 people, including 9 kids. Since our house would be pretty packed with all the people, I set up the garage as per our normal birthday pary routine and prayed that the rain would hold off. I wasn't so lucky but it ended up being a lot of fun with a few bathing suits and extra umbrellas. I called all the parents and told them to just bring bathing suits for the kids and since it was so warm on Saturday, they were just going to play in the rain.

Here are Ken and Anna bouncing in the rain.

Of course - a princess cake... took 2 hours to make and 2 minutes to cut and destroy!

Squishy and Cute

Anna's 3-year old birthday party is coming up thsi weekend and then her actual birthday is the following weekend. So, since the next two weeks are going to be all about Anna, I thought I would get some Emma-Grace time in before the birthday mayham starts.

Here, she is demonstrating the extream squishy-ness of her face with a big smile for me.

Big baby blues

I will remind Emma-Grace next time she dresses herself that horizontal stripes do nothing for the stout girl!

Bald and beautiful! Like Ken's dad says: God only made so many perftect heads, the rest he covered with hair!

Another comparison of Anna and Emma-Grace.

The biggest baby EVER!

Emma-Grace had her 1 month check up, although she is 6 weeks old. Well, she has certinally taken us on a roller coaster ride. First, she starts off not eating enough and loosing too much weight during her first week of life. Now, the little piggy is packing on the pounds! Which is a totally different "problem" (if you can really call it that) than not gaining enough weight!

She was 8.6 lbs at birth and got down to 7.25 lbs after her birth. Well, now the monster baby weighs 11.5 lbs! So she gained 2.9 lbs from her birth weight and a whopping 4.25 lbs from her lowest weight. She also grew 2" in the past 6 weeks. I guess it makes sense that size one diapers are pretty small on her and that her 0-3 month clothes are a little tight on her! Just for reference, Anna weighed 9.6 lbs at her one month appointment and 11 lbs even at her two month... so Emma-Grace is blasting past Anna!

Labor Day Weekend Getaway

The four of us went up to my parent's place in Houghton Lake. My sister and bro-in-law were also there. We had a great time. Here are some pics of us partying.
Ken was incharge of catching dinner... here is the massive perch my stud-muffin of a husband caught on Anna's pink and purple disney princess fishing pole.

Anna driving the boat.

Anna loves to swim and be tossed about... but I think Ken tossed her up a little too high. Check out her facial expression in the blow up below.

Here is Ken and Anna fishing. You can see she is really into it. Notice the pink and purple Disney princess fishing pole...

Here are the sisters... me and Sara and Anna and Emma-Grace. Anna was not into the whole sister thing.
Emma-Grace was around too...
Anna is a great big sister.
